No disks found

This issue can occur on systems that do not have a GUID formatted disk, or that had a previous instillation of another operating system on the internal hardBold text disk. The disk must be formatted as a GUID volume and ALL DATA ON THE DISK WILL BE LOST. The procedure to do this and convert your disk to one ready for the Mac OS are as follows:

  1. Click on Utilities on the tool bar, then select Disk Utilities.
  2. On the left you should see your hard drive.
  3. If not, a disk is not connected or cannot be read by your computer.
  4. After selecting your hard drive click on Partition.
  5. Under Volume Scheme, click current and select 1 partition.
  6. Under Volume Information, name your hard drive.
  7. Format: Free Space
  8. Click Apply
  9. Click Partition
  10. After selecting your hard drive click on Partition.
  11. Under Volume Scheme, click current and select 1 partition.
  12. Under Volume Information, name your hard drive.
  13. Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
  14. At the bottom of the window Click on the Options Button.
  15. Select the GUID Partition Table
  16. Click OK
  17. Click Apply
  18. Click Partition
  19. Quit Disk Utilities
  20. Continue with normal installation

"Install Failed" or "Installation Failed"

Due to the nature of BIOS to EFI emulation technology, some systems will experience an error near the end of the Mac OS X software installation process. This error is due to the OS failing to set the EFI boot volume and may result in "startup disk" related error messages near the end of the process. For generic Intel PC's THIS ERRROR IS COMPLETELY COSMETIC and will not interfere with the use of the Rebel EFI software. Continue and click through any error messages. Simply reinsert the Rebel EFI startup disk into the system and you will then be able to boot the newly installed volume and CONTINUE THE INSTALLATION PROCESS .
